Altered Paper is the foundation to so many exciting avenues in your art. You can create art you never imagined possible with these simple foundation pieces.
Having a stash of altered papers to work with and at my disposal was a game changer for me. It took the pressure off of looking at a blank page, canvas, piece of fabric, and wondering what am I going to do with this surface staring back at me and where do I start.
But most importantly, it was a creative, fun and a very relaxing process with no expectations of the outcome or of "being wrong" It's just not possible in making altered papers.
I have a confession, I can't draw. I have been an artist for all my life and have successfully worked in a variety of media in all those decades and yet, when it came to drawing, I opted out. Not for me. It's when I discovered mixed media that I really felt I was finally "home" The process, colors, texture and possibilities resonated with me when little had to this point..
I would love to share all I have learned over the years with you but more importantly, share the joy this process brings.
